_Blood, that's all she saw. Her blade taking the life from another as her hand stole the soldier's soul. Yet she was happy, she was to be born again in the light of the church and yet her mind and body said no. On the grounds of execution she stood up and thrusted her hand forwards her blade her claws. On the outside of her hand a Rune of the Unholy Arts burned with the power she had gained. But then again I am getting to a head of myself again.
_"Hello once again reader. It's me Kronos. I know I have told you all about the many epics of the men and women of the realm of Light and Dark, however I want to state something that will make most of you question me. In their world, other race's are. Now, know with the one's who call them selfs Humans and the one's who call them selfs the High-Kar under the order of their master and underleader General Kaiyne. There are more. The Elf's who are of Light skin and Dark skin. The Dwarf who leave there halls only somberly and a race of human who hide a curse of wolf like powers. However this tale is of two people. A Human with the Curse and a Elf who bares the powers of the damned. She is called Li'Stera. But the Elves call her one thing. Lich, the Queen of the damned who uses her gifts to take the power from the world of the living and gives them to herself. Everyone who knows her only calls her Lich or Queen of the damned. It became too bad she had to wear armor, which froze with her heart. She died in the war of the brothers serving Dark and his cause. Yet her armor frozen white and frost growing with each soul she extracted power from. She was branted as a Lich when she was stabbed by a Sergeant and did not die. And now out Story starts…"
_"What the hell is she! I stabbed the Bitch in the bloody heart! Quick get the Irons, we will take her to the General herself." As his words were carried out Li'stera could not help but think of her home and who everything came as it was. She had taken souls to make her powers grow. But what just happened because she would not submit to her Sergeant, it was unnatural.
_Dragged away in Irons her armor could not be removed as she had froze her body to protect herself from the men around her. The only thing they could even grab were her ears that were longer and went back behind her head at points about an inch or so. She looked at the man she was fighting with but a moment ago she felt weak and cold. Her body refusing to lesson to what she was wanting it to. "W-what is happ-" That's all she could manage to say as she heard the sound of death creep into her words.
_"Damnation! She is an Undead, and an Elf. What a waste, such a prity young thing too. Take her away maybe Lord Dark will see fit to make her a royal snack." The men laughed as the Sergeant grimed. "Well it's not a total loss," He said as he went to her. Then ripped out the Blade from her chest leaving her Bleeding. "I can still get it cleaned up." He then burst into a laugh.
_Looking back her eye's started to gane a unholy blue glow as she let out a Unnatural roar that only came from those of the dead. Getting up she reach out and pulled the man to her. All the other Soldiers backed away scared as they did not know what to do. The Sergeant looked at her as he froze. Reaching out Le'stera pulled the man to her. "You wanted me. Well pucker up big boy." She said then kissed him. His eye's started to roll in the back of his head and it looked like she was just kissing him when then from his gut came her hand but with clawed gloves instead of just a hand. His soul lost to her. Before she could make her escape however they closed the door. And there in the cold dark room with only the corps of the dead Sergeant and the only light from her eyes and whenever she opened her mouth she sat.
_For six long months, she sat and rot. The corps now just a frozen pile of bones. Her food, what little she got, only made her hunger more. Yet when she died, it was not so. She would close her eye's to pass on and yet she remained on this plane as if someone was pushing her back into her body. Taking off her chest plate she looked over her wound which would have had more then enough time to heal, yet it was all but. She still had a cut in between her breasts. When she did so there was a rousing at the door. And she was much too weak to fight off whoever it was. Leaning on the wall she wondered who would want to disturb the dead.
_Though the open door came the last person she would have expected. He was bound in Black and Steal with a chain and on the end of the chain that was at least one Hundred yards long was what looked like a Dagger head. And his eye's, hidden behind a Blind fold. And yet he looked right at her as if he knew what she looked like. "How long did you keep her down here?"
_"Since she was stabbed sir." The voice came from a man just out of sight.
_"Food?"
_"Well, the cook did not want to waste any good food on her Brigadier General sir. We have kept her down here with her kill which from the looks of it the Sergeant has not moved so we cannot confirm much." As the man spoke Le'stera looked at the General and hissed at him not angrly but more scared for her life as it was. She felt something in the back of her mind like a power wanting to get out. But when she let it. The skeleton rose Surrounded in a unholy light yet she never took her eyes off the General. When it was all done the Sergeant was back but, his eyes glowed like hers only not as powerful and he spoke not a word. He just got in front of her like a human shield. Seconds later it burst into fire as it's energy went back to Le'stera who now backed away on the wall at the aprocing men. When she was taken everyone looked as if they were cold and she saw their breath.
_Pinned to the wall the General looked angry not at her but at the men. "For shame! Releace her at once, you should never hold a lady as such. Besides if I am right, we are in the presence of not only a lady but a Queen as well. However only Master Dark will know for sure." He got close to her and lifted up his Blind Fold. His eyes were nothing but fires in his head. He looked like just is stare alone could start a blaze, yet, he was scared because of something. "Mis, you'll have to be coming with me." He said as she felt safe around him. Getting up he looked at her wound. "I see we need to get you some more fitting cloths now…However I am afrade we are not as crafted as the Elves are so will you suffice with a human made dress or gown? I mean after all you are a importen person now you should show it. As well." He added the last part as he walked out. "Also, I am Omega." He said as he left her right behind feeling a little exposed as her armor was taken off save for her leggings boots and the knitted Elven shirt she got from him that now was stand red with her blood and a massive open cut.
_Walking into the day however her eyes had to ajust and when everyone looked onto her and her glowing eyes they talked and shund her for she was a monster. Only Omega's protection kept her alive and she knew it. Walking with her head down Omega led her to the Tavern. There she ordered her food but the man refused to give it even as she put the money on the counter. Omega walked up and looked at the Tender who angrly nodded and gave her a plate. "And my you choke on the bones you undead freak." He said as she walked away. She holding something the Elves rarely ate. Meat, yet she had a strong urge to get some.
_In her chair everyone around her shivered save for Omega who was always dressing warm saying it was cold out to everyone. One man drunk off his rocker walked up to her too hammered to care. "Ma'am, shou are the most Prity thing I think I thunk of to the moment." With a sigh she turned around and looked at him. When she did he sobered up almost at once as she looked him dead in the eye.
_Turning back to her food Le'stera ate. "My name, it's Le'stera. At least that's what it is in Elven how ever in human you may call me Rorana. I have to ask, why did you think I am of a Queen when my Queen is who she is and her King is stated as such?"
_Omega laughed as a hardy man. "A Queen you are Rorana, however it's not of the living. You're the Queen of the damned and now everyone knows it." He smiled more as he drank some kind of tea.
_"But, how? And besides I am a Elf, I can't be a-a…" It came to her, like a realization but worse. She had become what was seen as the evil leader of their religion. "I am a Lich!" She said out loud scared as her voice carried and made people stop and look at her.
_"See, now is when I wish you did not say that for there are people here who are for Light and Spys. Now we have to fight them…" Omega grabbed her and bolted out side still drinking not spilling a drop. Putting her down he went and got a chair. "Go on then, this is your battle not mine. Show them what the new Lich can do." Omega drank from his cup happy watching.
_Rorana looked back scared and unknowing of what to do, but then she felt something under the ground as if calling to her. Reaching down she saw something metal poke out. Taking hold she pulled up a rune blade that had a skull on it and a fine honed edge. In her hand it glowed like snow and ice. And now she felt simi-safer. As the men got closer Rorana looked back at Omega who was drinking from his cup, his eyes trained on her as he did so. Taking a deep breath she looked back and got ready holding the sword at her side she looked forword and waited till she was surrounded.
_A spy got behind her and as fast as he could pulled out a dagger and preformed a flash backstab. Leaving the blade in, he turned to Omega with a sly grin, "Is that the Best you got?" He said with a smug voice. The other men looked at Omega who did not even looked at them or show any sign of stopping his drink. When he did not get up they looked back as they saw the elf had not fallen over she just stood there huched over with the dagger sticking from her back.
_Reaching back with her hand Rorana pulled the Dagger out of her back then looked over her shoulder at the group as a smile, almost as evil as light himself appeared on her face. Omega lifted an eye brow as she watched. She took her weapon and moved with a speed almost paranormal, as if she were no more than a ghost to the world, and implanted her weapon in the back of the first spy. Within moments she pulled the sword out and saw it was taking the life of the human it killed. She then put the sword on her should and felt it get taken and sort of floated just off her back and followed her in that spot. Taking one more step she dropped to one knee and on instance felt something leave her hands and runes appeared under two of their feet. Within moments a black unholy energy shot from their eyes as they turned into ghouls and started to attack the other men who were not ready and attacked. Only the spy who stabbed her in the back survived but she looked at him holding up her fist that glowed red for a moment as the Ghouls exploded and their energy transfused to her. He looked at her scared, "What sort of monster are you! That demon of darkness made you!" He yelled as he scrambed to his feet trying to get away. But to late was he she had already held up her hand and was about to give the final blow, her hand frozen over and Ice chips about to fall off when Rorana hesitated and dropped her hand.
_"I see, you have the power but still believe in give people chance. For this I amend you, however these men we have been tracking down." Just as he got done talking a chain seemed to fly at the back of the man who was not fifty or so yards away. Like a homing dart the knife on the end found it's mark and when though the man like it hand a mind of its own. Pulling back on the chain Omega set his glass down and let it wrap around him. "Well, I say you're not too bad in a fight, maybe not as learned as the last Lich King but more or less as powerful. Now we must leave. Sir. Dark will wish to meet you and get you in the right armor and or cloths that you wish and need." With that Omega pulled out three coins set them in the glass and watched as the waiter took the glass back to the in.
_With the last three days behind them Rorana and Omega made it to the capital city of the northern Empire. The Keep it's self like a fortress that held a monster waiting to attack. Inside the gate for guards got around Rorana to keep her safe from those warlocks and Necromancers that would want her power as Omega explained. Walking to a room that was labed as, 'The High-Ladies' Sleeping and Office quarters.' The guards stayed outside a little bit of their nerves failing them as they waited.
_Walking in was like stepping into the mind of a tactician who was years ahead of her time. Charts everywhere, battle plans drawn and rosters of men lost in battle versus the men killed on the other side. Everything screamed that a general was about. From the back a door opened to what looked like a bedroom but closed too fast when a woman in full armor and face mask walked in and sat down. "So, Rorana. Private in the army of the western defenders. Consort to the Elven Royalty and now. Lich Queen of the North, a fitting title. I took the liberty of sending a message via the link the Elves gave us. Now I will not be kind here they said a lot and I am surprised they were not nicer. It seems you are now labeled as sort of a outcast by them, and your family has disowned you. But after some talking, they still accept you under one condition. That you give your power to Dark's cause. However I told them you have and now leave the choice to you. We do not dare command the dead. That's now your job not ours. So when you are presented to the Emperor, how will you act? I cannot say but first thing is first we have to get you out of those blood soaked rags." Getting up she walked Rorana into the bedroom and sat her down. The moment she did servants walked in and pulled off the tattered cloths Rorana had on because they were already cut up and ratty. Feeling exposed Rorana covered her self even though she had on underclothing. Looking at the woman all she could see was the mask and nothing more. "Give her a fitting dress. Something that states her race yet also her status."
_At her word the servants bowed and the General left her. Within moments she walked out in a dark gown with glowing blue high-lights that made their glow just because they were on her. On her head was a crown that she did not want but had no choice but to put on. They then took her out to the main hall she felt so odd. It was as if she was cold and yet no one else felt it. She looked at the ground and saw two glowing red eyes looking back at her. "You know, if you look into the abyss. They say it looks back into you." At that the soldiers went to one knee and even Omega who was at the door saluted in the direction the throne. "Well go on, after all you are a leader now. Even if it's of the damned." Slowly Rorana sat in the chair that was open to her. The chair hiss for a moment then stopped. "So you are indeed the next Lich of this world." From behind her a form appeared, it was that of a black Dragon with its body curled around the throne and head pointed at her. "Welcome to your domain Lich, Rorana." It said looking at her. "I am Dark. And as much as I hate it I am the leader of the northern Empire. That makes me Emperor Dark. And by now you probly can feel my soul as it is to massive to take and or use so your intimidated to the point you don't know what to do. So let me help you out. One: Do not take the souls of the men under Lady Xudeath's rule. Two: You are free to go about as you would. Anything else will be answered over time." His words calm and yet strangely twisted as if they were coming from some far off place. "You have been giving the life of unlife. And your people will rally at but the notion of your grate and terrible power." Looking up at the one skylight the moon was visible. "I am afrade I must go Rorana. However you must go as well now. To your kind, to your people, who rest in the western end of the Empire. Go now to them and show those who call themselves your king's men who you are Lich, Rorana." Just as the Dragon came it left and Rorana was alone safe for her thoughts.
_It had been two days. Two long, hard, days since she talked to Dark. And two days since she last saw anything that resembled the human way of life. She walked alone on foot, in armor that clung to her skin as if it was a part of her. The whole time she walked she kept her eye forword. Yet she was blind to see what was right behind her. Struck from behind across the neck her vision flared for a moment as she then groaned and rolled on her back. Looking up she did not see any humans, but two Eleven sentries. Two had in their hands the weapons that bared the royal crest of the Guard. "Rorana, daughter of Ia'sara. You are hereby under arrest for dabbling in the Arts of Necromancy and being one of the living dead."
_As the Male spoke another grabbed her and carefully bound her showing grace and honor as he did. Down low he spoke to her as the other sentry went to do something just out of ear shot. "Rorana, I am sorry we had to meet like this. You do not need my name but I can tell you this. Your father, the captain of the guard. He wishes to see you before something bad happens. This was the only way he could do it. The Queen wish's you dead, or to salute your power to her and only her. On your fathers request we are taking you to the Royal city." He could not say more as the other man came back.
_"Get the prisoner ready. The Captain will be waiting for us to arrive within the hour." He said looking at Rorana. "And get the Ice Queen here ready to go. Or on her feet I am not carrying her all the way there." Walking beside him the one who bound her helped her up showing more respect as he lead her to a waiting prison. Yet she felt something was wrong, as if something else was here and yet she could not tell.
_In the Royal city, the last place she thought she would ever see again. Walking down the many way her face hidden under her helm as she walked not with shame but with honor as she knew she could not be harmed by anyone.
_The Elf's gathered around from all over to see this abomination that was one of their own. None of them seemed angry or disappointed. No they seemed scared because what was before them was what they believed to be evil and a plague. Pushing them from her mind she walked on to the main building that stood out. Not of wood but of stone and rock. It was built by the Dwarves as a memento to pact they had.
_Walking to the final step of the castle entrance she saw the one person she did not want to see. The Queen. Taking a knee Rorana looked down at the ground. "Rorana, Lich of the Dark age. You were a disciple of the dark arts of our arcane would. We did not fight it because we knew it was needed. And now as we look to the future I ask you now, here before your people whom you owe more then your first life for not killing you. Swear yourself to me and help us take down that which is not meant to be."
_There was a long unwanted silence. She keep looking down her bindings not hurting but she felt a presence from within her shadow. Looking down she saw it was Dark who was hiding within it waiting for her to stand or let him out by the way the two red eyes stared into hers. Getting up she looked back at the people then took a deep breath. "My people," She said her voice sounding evil in every since, "I am here before you as I am. Dead and remained to walk till the end of my days. However, I will remain loyal to the cause that has been our calling. To fight off light." She then turned to the Queen looking at her. "And to you, I give you nothing of my power. I give you no right to command me."
_The Queen's expression turned to outrage and anger. "So be it, let the records show that here and now the Lich Rorana died because she failed to keep the dead under control. Take her now to the grounds to be hung." That was all she had to say. That is how she was there now at the hanging grounds. Waiting to be hung, but something did not sit with her and, and she burst out in raged her shadow fighting with her as she took down guard after guard, not killing them but knocking them out.
_The Mage's got evolved and soon found themselves on the wrong end as Rorana's hand ganged claws and she started braking Guards armor. Turning and looking at the Queen she pointed and from under her helm every one could see, the true rage of a Lich as ice started to overtake everything.
_"That is enough." Just as that voice rang out a rift opened and DST's (Dimsional Shock Troopers) rushed out swords drawn and ready for battle. Even their leader XIII stepped out and roared. The Noctigator's rage was building as he swipped down not to kill bit to disarm. He never let his energy beam, the Nox explode forth. But in the commotion from shadow to shadow a voice rang out. "This place is in fested. This place is breading Formless." The Shadow's then converged on the Queen as she rose into the air. When the shadows formed there in front of the Elf's for the first time. Was the Black Dragon, Dark. He held the queen and looked her in the eye. But his eye's glowed with a Golden hue. "You have made a deal with a devil and now, now you kill a Lich because of it. Has Light really grown this scared of one person?" He then took the Queen into the shadows and from then only the sound of fighting was heard. The DST's did the best they could to get the people out of the area and even Rorana tried but they spend the most of their time fighting off the one's under the influence of the Formless.
_In a might of rage the Formless came together and formed a spectral dog who was over shadowing the mages as a whole. The Mage's took down ten DST's who fell over dead, never to rise again. Rorana looked at the bodies and then in a moment of pure rage held her hand out and brought them back to life as her servents but with powers of the dead. They charged unable to feel the pain even after they lost half their bodies and lims. They marched on and soon they took down the Mage's forcing the Soul Hunter to meifest its self. But the DST's she had called back were dead again. Their bodies taken and destroyed by the magic's that were use to twist them. Roaring at them she jumped and attacked at the Soul Hunter. But when she got close, she felt something that no one else did. She felt all the soul's trapped inside the thing.
_Jumping back knowing her attack failed she looked around to see if anyone was around. XIII was but the DST's where away securing the area of the Keep. "Look," She yelled at XIII, "I need you to hold that thin down anyway you can!" XIII must have understood because at once it walked to the soul Hunter and reached for it. His slow motions either a ploy or hokes because the Soul Hunter moved away and pressed to jump up the Noctigator's arm and then preceded to bite at what looked like a cloak over its body. Giving it no time to react XIII grabbed the thing then slamed it to the ground holding it there.
_Walking to it Rorana reached out and started to take its energy via all the trapped souls inside it. Her body then healing as she had broken her bindings getting free to attack. Looking back over her shoulder her hair flung over and she smiled with a grim grin.
_"Now you see. At this point the world would have felt many great powers. It's me Kronos again. Now I am not going to tell you how this ended. But I will tell you this. That day the true Lich was born and from the ash made by the death of the Soul Hunter were born the ones that would be later called the Undead army. You see they were not dead they were given a name called the Light Hunters or Lit'Ograns. And Rorana became the first Lighthorn. As time went on she stayed as the leader until a man took her down called Gannon. His name tarnished the name Lighthorn and he was banished to a realm known only as the wastes of the doomed. Now before I go. I will say this Rorana's story is not over. Heavens no, she has interwoven her line with all who took up the title as Lighthorn. But for now, I will leave you with this."
_"It was once believed the world could live together, but what could not be seen was the simple dagger that was used to stab the back of his friend." –Kronos, the Chronokeeper.
